Marriage Check-Up (Eph 5:22-33)

Rainier Valley Church Worship Service
Sunday, September 13th
"Marriage Check-Up" (Ephesians 5:22-33)
The coronavirus has drained our health, our paychecks, and now, even our marriages.
I don’t know a single marriage that hasn’t experienced difficulties and strains from COViD burnout, pessimism, exhaustion, and fatigue.
Let's take our marriages and our singleness to the Word of God for a check-up from Ephesians 5:22-33.Reflect and Discuss
  1. Why is it important to think about the role of the Spirit when discussing marriage? (5:18-33)
  2. Why do some react negatively to Paul’s instruction to wives?
  3. How would you answer their objections to the concept of “Submitting”?
  4. How does the illustration of marriage as a picture of Christ and the church give purpose and hope for marriage?
  5. How is a husband called to love his wife?
  6. How might a husband display “sacrificial love” practically?
  7. How might a husband display “sanctifying love” practically?
  8. Stop and pray for your own marriage or for the marriages of others
