Proverbs: Wise Words (James 3; Various Proverbs; Matt 12:35-37)


Sunday, April 26th - "Wise Words" -  (James 3:1-10; Various Proverbs; Matthew 12:35-37)    
GROUP DISCUSSION QUESTIONS 
What are three of the most encouraging things people have ever told you in your entire life? How have these words built you up and shaped you?
What are three of the most discouraging things people have ever told you in your entire life? How have these discouraging words broken and crushed you?
If you could go back in time and tell your younger self one thing, what would it be and why?
What are some of the most prominent examples of times in which you either hurt or helped someone else with your words?
In your speech, in what ways are you being wise, simple, foolish, or a mocker? (Use the bulletin Insert for a breakdown of the characteristics of wise, simple, foolish and mocking speech) 
Using the wise, simple, fool and mocker breakdown given to us in the book of Proverbs, which character defines your thought-life, marriage, family, friendships, work place, and/or school?
What is one area of weakness in your speech that you need to begin address this week?  How can your family/care group support you in growing in your use of wise words?
