Roman Catholic apologists often appeal to church history to support Catholic teaching concerning purgatory. Many Protestants are less familiar with church history on this question, and tend to focus on making biblical arguments. In this video I offer an overview of a Protestant perspective on purgatory, putting special focus on the development of this doctrine throughout church history.
Truth Unites is a mixture of apologetics and theology, with an irenic focus.

New Year's 2015 - "A New You" - John 3:1-15
Well it's New Year’s 2015. How many of you
guys have made a New Year’s Resolution? Culturally we love and celebrate New Year’s because it
represents a time to start over, that we can change, that we can start off with
a clean slate. I’m not against new year’s resolutions
I think they can be helpful, I think they can be a form of repentance but New
Year’s cannot produce a new you. Resolutions can produce behavior modification
but not heart transformation
Big Idea: Jesus didn't come to make us better; he came to make us new!

The Quest for True Happiness
"No one can possibly escape unhappiness if they worship happiness as a god in itself and forsake the one true God, the true source and giver of happiness. In the same way, no one can escape hunger who licks at a picture of bread and does not eat for real, physical, sustaining bread"
(Augustine's The City of God paraphrased)
