Hope in God's Glory (1 Peter 4:7-19)

Bridge Community Fellowship Sunday 11-02-25 Worship Service Living Hope in a Broken World: A Journey Through 1 Peter Hope in God’s Glory (1 Peter 4:7–19) Big Idea for This Week: Because the end is near, God’s people must stay alert in prayer, stay loving in community, stay useful in service, and stay faithful in suffering. Sermon Outline 1. Stay Alert — Be Clear-Minded and Prayerful (4:7) • The end of all things is at hand, we must live with eternal perspective and urgency. • Be self-controlled and sober-minded so that your prayers remain powerful and focused. • When the world is chaotic, don’t numb out but pray it out. 2. Stay Loving — Be Forgiving and Hospitable (4:8–9) • Above all, keep loving one another earnestly; love covers a multitude of sins. • Show hospitality without grumbling, open your heart and home. • The gospel is displayed when the church is marked by grace-filled relationships. 3. Stay Useful — Be a Steward of Grace (4:10–11) • Every believer has received a gift so we must use it to serve others. • Speak as one who speaks God’s truth; serve with the strength God provides. • When we serve faithfully, God is glorified through Jesus Christ. 4. Stay Faithful — Be Joyful in Suffering (4:12–19) • Don’t be surprised when fiery trials come because they refine faith. • Rejoice that you share in Christ’s sufferings and His future glory. • Entrust your soul to a faithful Creator and keep doing good. Study Questions for Reflection 1. What does it mean to live with “the end of all things” in view? 2. Why does Peter emphasize love and hospitality during times of pressure? 3. How can you identify and use your gifts to strengthen others in the church? 4. What does it look like to entrust yourself to God when you face hardship? 5. How can your response to suffering display the hope of Christ to others? Practical Challenges to Live Out Hope When the Heat Is On Pray First. Before reacting or worrying, bring your concerns to God. Love Deeply. Choose forgiveness and grace when relationships are strained. Serve Faithfully. Use your gifts to strengthen and bless the body of Christ. Endure Joyfully. Trust God in the fire since He is refining your faith for His glory.
