The Mystery Revealed (Ephesians 3:1-13)
People love mystery stories, from Stranger Things on Netflix to the dozens of CSI-like investigative shows, from Scooby-Doo cartoons to the Serial podcast, we want to find the clues and solve the mystery. There is a mystery in the Bible, a mystery that once solved, will utterly change our lives. Grab a Bible and a Notebook as we learn about the mystery of the Gospel in Ephesians 3:1-13.
Reflect and Discuss
If you were imprisoned for you faith like Paul, do you think it would make you stronger or discourage you?
What steps can you take to strengthen your faith to face all kinds of challenges?
How does Paul’s pastoral heart challenge and/or encourage you?
Why should missionaries have a solid graph on the essentials of the faith? How might you grow in your understanding of sound doctrine?
How would explain the “mystery” Paul describes?
Are you overwhelmed by Christ’s grace? Why or why not? What can you learn from Paul regarding gratitude for God’s grace?
Why is it right to say the riches of Christ are “incalculable” or unsearchable?
In light of this passage, why should one have a high view of the local church?
How does a high or low view of the church play out practically and how can you tell if there is a difference between stated belief and lived out belief?
Why is this passage an encouragement to pray?
