What Does it Mean to "Test the Spirits"? | White Horse Inn

FREE BOOKLET - https://solamedia.org/offers/thewarwe... This essential guide examines what the Bible actually teaches about Satan, demons, and spiritual warfare. Recording from East Africa, Michael Horton and Justin Holcomb consider how Christians today can discern between true and false spiritual influences. 1. "Running From God" (Jonah 1:1-17)

Bridge Community Fellowship Sunday 08-24-25 Worship Service Week #1 “Running from God” (Jonah 1:1–17) Big Idea for This Week: When Jonah runs from God’s call, he discovers that rebellion only leads to regret, but God’s grace is waiting even in the storm. Sermon Outline: 1. God Calls (1–2) – God calls Jonah to go to Nineveh with His message of mercy. 2. Jonah Runs (3) – Jonah rebels, saying “No” when God says “Go.” 3. God Pursues (4–10) – God lovingly pursues Jonah through a storm. 4. Jonah Surrenders (11–17) – Jonah acknowledges his rebellion and yields to God’s will. Application Questions for Study and Discussion: • What stood out to you most in Jonah 1:1–17? • Why do you think Jonah ran from God’s call instead of obeying? What does Jonah’s running teach us about human rebellion against God? Where are you tempted to say “NO” when God says “GO”? • What “boats” are available in your life right now that make running from God easy? • How do the sailors respond to Jonah’s disobedience, and what does that reveal about God’s mission? • How have you experienced God’s pursuit when you’ve run from Him in the past? • What does surrender to God look like for you this week? Common Confusions About God's Attributes

How can God be omniscient and yet not know what it is like to sin? How can God be a necessary being? How can God be omnipresent and yet be particularly located in places like the temple? Bridge Community Fellowship Sunday 08-17-25 Worship Service

Building Healthy Mission: Avoiding Distractions and Finishing Well (Titus 3:9-15)

Big Idea for This Week: God calls His church to stay focused on the mission, refuse distractions, and finish well

Sermon Outline:

1. Avoid Pointless Disputes (v.9) - Don’t get caught in arguments that distract from the mission.
2. Address Divisive People Wisely (vv.10–11) - Protect the unity of the church through loving but firm correction.
3. Live with Missional Intentionality (vv.12–14) - Support gospel partners and devote yourself to good works that meet urgent needs.
4. End with Grace (v.15) - Healthy mission finishes well in loving fellowship and gospel partnerships

Application Questions for Study and Discussion:

• What are some modern “pointless disputes” that can distract churches from gospel mission? What are some ways that you can get distracted from the tasks God has given you to accomplish? • Why is it important to address divisive people, and how can we do it with wisdom and grace? What happens if we never address divisive people? How can addressing, while awkward, be loving? • How can you personally live with greater missional intentionality this week? What is one “good work” you can pursue to meet an urgent need around you? • Where do you need to let grace be the “last word” in a relationship, conversation, or ministry situation?
